Exeter Racecourse, located on Haldon Hill in Devon, is Britain’s highest racecourse at around 850 feet above sea level. It is a right-handed, undulating track with a long home straight and stiff uphill finish, making it a thorough test of stamina, especially in testing ground. The fences are regarded as fair but demanding, rewarding sound jumpers. Track bias: Front-runners and prominent racers often hold an advantage on good ground, but in softer going the stiff finish can strongly favour horses held up off the pace who stay well.
